Final two bands announced for Moshville Rocktoberfest

We’re at the end of June and two months ago, we announced our next gig with Glasgow’s own Six Year Silence as headliners in Ivory Blacks on 19th October. We’ve slowly teased you with the remainder of the bands ing them on the day but since we’re at the end of the month and the great reception we’ve had so far with comments online and the best ticket sales we’ve had, we’re going to tell you the final two bands right now!

Mosh described their 2022 album, Perfection of Human Error, thusly: “It’s a pretty full-on affair, with a rampant rhythm section blasting you back into your seat.” Indeed, they’re going to get your blood pumping as they cite influences such as Machine Head and Fear Factory, and anyone considering coming for just the names at the top of the poster, this is a prime example of why you should always come to a gig for every band (unless other factors prevent you).

Set to make their triumphant return to the stage at Ivory Blacks in a couple of months with a new and revitalised line-up before our own show (I suppose they’ll be wanting to road test everything’s working before playing Rocktoberfest), Ricky is going to be there to check it out and he’ll also have some flyers for this show to keep it in your mind once they’ve impressed you!

Stone Soup are hardly strangers to our pages, featuring heavily in our coverage of Oxford’s Metal 2 the Masses last year and making it all the way to the final! And tomorrow night, they’re in this year’s final. So this year may see us play host to Metal 2 the Masses winners when we’ve featured Bloodstock alumni in past line-ups. As they bring vintage tones, with a blend of blues, rock, stoner, metal, prog, you can expect them to get Ivory Blacks warmed up as the first band of the day.

Having heard a lot of good things, I’m really looking forward to seeing what all the (well-earned) fuss is about! And as one of only two bands not from the Glasgow area (they’re from over the border, just like Seething Akira), they’re more than up for getting acquainted with us north of the border and I’m sure they’ll be given a warm welcome.

So if you’ve somehow been hiding under a rock these last couple of months, the finalised line-up for Moshville Rocktoberfest looks like this:

  • Six Year Silence
  • Seething Akira
  • Gutlocker
  • The Breathing Method
  • The Guns For Hire
  • GunPoint X
  • Stone Soup
