YB video with “sexually explicit graphic content” – watch it here!

ybOK, before I get shut down by my web host, let’s put this in context…

Superstars in Korea, YB are known in their homeland for being edgy and for occasionally pushing the envelope. However, according to the Korean censors, YB may have finally gone a bit too far.

The video for the band’s first English-language single, “Cigarette Girl,” while considered fairly tame in the United States, has been banned from ever seeing the light of day on Korean television.

YB is as big in Korea as Aerosmith, Bon Jovi or Guns N’ Roses are in the States. “Cigarette Girl” is an ode to a beauty that was too hot to handle for his bandmates. “So now, it’s just me left who never tried anything so far/Get outta my way, here I go!”

According to The Korea Times and many other Korean publications, “Korean rock band YB’s new music video containing sexually explicit graphic contents made its national airing impossible except online…Korea Communication and Standards Commission rated the video R, prohibiting it from airing on television. It can be watched only online.” [you can read the article here]

The “offensive” parts of the video, according to those reports, involve YB lead singer and leader DO-HYUN’s steamy make-out scenes with New York-based model Alisa Obrivanova inside an SUV with a police light on top, and on a bed.
