Earthside release cinematic album trailer

Earthside - A Dream in StaticProgressive collective Earthside, (New England- USA) has launched a cinematic trailer for A Dream in Static, its debut album due out October 23rd. Scroll down to enjoy!

The band commented:

One of our many ambitions as a cinematic rock band is to score films and video games. With this project, we had the unique challenge of using pre-existing audio stems from our album to shape the drama of our trailer. Consider this our declaration of intent — our mission statement.

An epic undertaking of cross-continental collaborations, A Dream in Static was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden under the watch of renowned producer and mix engineer, David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath), and additional mix and mastering engineer, Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, The Ocean, Devin Townsend). The instrumental collective recruited several acclaimed guest vocalists including Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust), Daniel Tompkins (TesseracT, ex-Skyharbor), Björn Strid (Soilwork) and Eric Zirlinger (Face the King, ex-Seer) to provide their prowess across four of the eight cinematic tracks, as well as the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO) for live orchestral compositions.

The band’s debut music video for “Mob Mentality” – featuring guest vocals from Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon and a full orchestral arrangement composed by Earthside guitarist Jamie van Dyck and performed by the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO) – can be streamed on YouTube.

“Making this video was a fulfilling process because as such a transdisciplinary project, it crossed our paths with talented individuals across the arts,” van Dyck explained. “We worked with dancers, choreographers, directors, editors, colorists, professional orchestral musicians, a conductor, an orchestra contractor, a wardrobe/costume person, and of course a rock star vocalist. Involving all these people in our art reaffirmed the value of what we’re doing and sets the stage for the collaborative spirit we hope to continue to embody as we reach across the arts into the worlds of film, dance, video games, and other visual arts.”

The first A Dream in Static single, “The Closest I’ve Come,” can also be streamed online.
