If there’s one advantage to having a large backlog of videos – other than that it means I have a lot of good videos to watch – it’s that I can draft these articles to publish while I’m away rocking out at this year’s Wildfire Festival…
King 810 – “Carve My Name”
“Carve My Name”, King 810’s final video from their Memoirs of a Murderer album has premiered via the band’s YouTube channel. The video is a collection of artwork and photographs from the band’s dedicated fan base known as ‘The Family’. The clip serves as a photo book, looking back on how the band and the community that surrounds them grew together over the years.
Earlier this year King 810 entered the studio to begin work on their follow-up LP to Memoirs of a Murderer and took action as a pillar of the Flint, MI community by releasing new music to take aim at the water crisis devastating their hometown. This past year the band released a two new tracks: “We Gotta Help Ourselves”, a track ing a partnership with local Flint outlet, Savage Village who created a unique T-shirt design, and “crow’s feet,” which was featured on charity compilation, Not Safe To Drink: Music For Flint Water Crisis Relief. All proceeds from both the T-shirt design and compilation is being donated to The Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s Flint Child Health & Development Fund.
Triple Sun – “Moses”
Post-Rock experimentalists Triple Sun featuring Massimo Pupillo of Zu have just shared a new video for the song “Moses”, taken from the band’s debut album The City Lies In Ruins. Recorded between Rome and Paris with guitarist/vocalist David Chalmain at the helm, The City Lies In Ruins was released on May 13th on CD and vinyl via Consouling Sounds.
One Day Waiting – “Dying For The Truth”
Alt-metal quartet One Day Waiting has released the first single/music video, “Dying for the Truth”, off of their sophomore EP, Mouthbreather. The band’s Tyler Kray has this to say:
“Dying for the Truth” is about people who blindly follow other people, trends and whats currently popular in society. These kinds of people base their lives off the opinion of others, but can’t form an opinion of their own. They often contradict what they do and what they say, like a man who bosses his workers around for slacking off, yet the boss is doing exactly that. I believe the music video delivers that message in both a serious and comedic way.
Descendents – “Victim of Me”
Descendents have released a live video today playing new single “Victim of Me” from their much anticipated new album, Hypercaffium Spazzinate, set for release on July 29th via Epitaph.
The footage was shot on April 20th, where Descendents performed their first South Bay area show in 20 years at The Standing Room in their hometown, Hermosa Beach, California. The show was an unannounced event for a room of 200 people. The band performed a diverse set of classics (and a few new songs) for locals in the small restaurant / bar owned by Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge.
