Tuesday Video Roundup: AXIS Five, Hibria, Lit Like Vegas, Karmakanic

Monday had a day off as it was a bank holiday in Scotland and I was focussing on getting more lovely stuff planned for you lot over the Bloodstock weekend. Making up for it with a nice eclectic selection today…

AXIS Five – “Freedom”

The band got in touch with me a while back about this track and themselves in general and – as is my wont – I lost it under a pile of other stuff. Oops. With its Pearl Jam-esque verses, this is a belter of a track once it gets going.

Hibria – “Leading Lady”

Hibria are celebrating their 20th anniversary with a new album entitled XX. “Leading Lady” is one of three new tracks along with four live performances from their catalog on the 20th anniversary album. XX is due out on August 9th via Test Your Metal Records. For those with really posh TVs, this video goes up to 4K.

Lit Like Vegas – “Drawing All The Lines”

Hailing from the South of England, explosive rock band Lit Like Vegas combine super charged, high octane guitar riffs with massive sing-along choruses and fist pumping melodies.

The band have just released an exciting new music for single “Drawing All The Lines” which is set to kick things off for the quintet this year. Lit Like Vegas are a band to sit up and take notice of!

Karmakanic – “Steer by the Stars”

Sweden-based progressive rockers Karmakanic have just released their fifth album DOT on InsideOutMusic. To celebrate they have released a brand new lyric video for the track “Steer By The Stars” which you can see below. Jonas Reingold had this to say:

This 4 min song stands in contrast to the 30 min epic that is on the album. I like the Yin and Yang philosophy; dark / bright, complex / simple. It has always been a real thread throughout the musical history of Karmakanic. It showcases Göran Edman at his best, Gentle Giantish vocal harmony arrangement with a stunning lead performance. This is also my very first compositional collaboration with my long time buddy Andy Tillison, he also recorded some awesome hammond organ for the track. Start the engines and steer by the stars, it might take you to places never seen before.
