Friday Video Roundup: The Answer, The 69 Eyes, Of Fire, Joyce Manor

*Hugs Friday* Missed ya!

The Answer – “Solas”

The Answer have unveiled the video for their latest single ‘Solas’, the title track from the band’s highly anticipated new album, out October 28th via Napalm Records. Pre-order it from Amazon and help this page: [amazon text=&asin=B01LCB8WFU] / [amazon text=CD&asin=B01K7O4374] / [amazon text=vinyl&asin=B01IKMW7T6]

The dark and sinister video is set in an eerie forest, with ritualistic pagan imagery reflecting the Celtic atmospheres of the song, and its ultimate surrender to the cleansing properties of the fire. It is a perfect accompaniment to the lyrical sentiments of this powerful, operatic rock anthem.

The 69 Eyes – “Lady Darkness”

Halloween is approaching and therefore it is once again time for the Helsinki Vampires The 69 Eyes to invade Europe with their unique mix of gothic metal and gloom rock’n’roll! But first they invite you all over to New York with their brand new video for “Lady Darkness”, which was once again directed and filmed in a modern black& white flair by fronter Jyrki 69 himself and edited by Jimi Sero. Jyrki 69 gives details about the song:

I wrote the lyrics for this song about my bar life in New York City – “Lady Darkness” being The Death dressed as a bartender lady. So naturally I went to film the video there too, featuring a lot of rock’n’roll cultural sights in The Lower East Side and elsewhere in Manhattan. The main guy in the video, a modern day “Midnight Cowboy” is my friend Sam Hariss, bass player from the cool New York band The Sweet Things. Other people are just my friends, I filmed it during my long weekend there in August. Once again it looks like my comics, a black/white mini movie like the earlier ones I did: “Jerusalem” and “Miss Pastis”.

Of Fire – “Scavengers”

Swedish death metallers Of Fire present new videoclip, entitled “Scavengers”!

Joyce Manor – “Last You Heard Of Me”

Joyce Manor premiere the video for “Last You Heard of Me”, a track appearing on their highly anticipated fourth album Cody, released this today. Order the album through Amazon and help this site: [amazon text=&asin=B01JFKI45I] / [amazon text=CD&asin=B01K68F5Q4] / [amazon text=vinyl&asin=B01K23ZDEW]

Directed by Christopher Good (who’s also worked with Okkervil River and Perfume Genius), “Last You Heard of Me” finds the California-based band performing at an ill-fated dinner party complete with roller-skating maids, fire-eaters, dancing skeletons, and a murderous house guest.
