Sunday Video Roundup: Firewind, Anticlockwise, Dan Davidson, The Priceduifkes

The end-of-year deluge continues as many bands seem to want to convince us to buy their albums in preparation for some kind of “giving ceremony”.

Firewind – “Ode To Leonidas”

Greek melodic power metal masters Firewind, the group led by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., are releasing their 8th studio album, Immortals, on January 20th, 2017 via the band’s longtime label partner Century Media Records in Europe. Gus details the track and album:

As many of you have found out by now, our new album Immortals is a concept and focusing on the battles of Thermopylae and Salamis. The song “Ode To Leonidas” is obviously about the legendary warrior King of Sparta and his heroic battle with his 300 brave men against the massive Persian army invaders.

For the production of the clip we traveled to Belgrade, Serbia and filmed with iCode team (same team that directed my solo video “The Quest” and so many other great bands) and we’re really amazed by the end result. It’s truly epic! We hope you will enjoy too. Heavy Metal fans – unite!

Anticlockwise – “The Blue Screen of Death”

Progressive thrash/metal band Anticlockwise have launched a new lyric video, entitled “The Blue Screen of Death”, as a single from the new album Raise your Head (out December 16th, 2016 via Revalve records). The band comments:

The concept deals with the compulsory use of the smartphone and social networks, the overwhelming barrage of text messages we read and write everyday, the stress reacted to all this and, on the other side, the stress that generates when “the link” is missing.

We tried to describe how the virtual ego fragments in his social network projection and the consequent need for appreciation… the need for an aseptic thumb up. The “like” is our new drug.

Dan Davidson – “Barn Burner”

Dan Davidson has released the highly entertaining official music video for his newest single, “Barn Burner.” Filmed in downtown Tokyo, and directed by Travis Nesbitt (Design By Komputer) with Assistant Director Russ Dawson, “Barn Burner” follows a distinctively Western dressed Davidson contrasting with the Japanese street culture surrounding him. And, yes, it’s country but it’s fun! Open your mind and your ears! Though don’t expect us to start covering Dolly Parton any time soon.

The Priceduifkes – “Full Clown”

Belgian punks The Priceduifkes have announced new album Goathorse, out on February 25th. Here’s your first taster from it.
