I meant to post this earlier in the week, but we’ve been (you guessed it) buried! Here’s a new song from Mr. Big’s forthcoming new album Defying Gravity which is out in July.
Personally, I think it’s a great number and definitely maintains that classic Mr. Big sound. I’m not a big fan of the distorted lyrics at the start, but thankfully they’re just for the intro before the rest of the song kicks in.
What really stands out for me, though, is that the band have included both drummers in the video. Original drummer Pat Torpey has gone through a lot of well-publicised health problems and often manages a couple of tracks per gig now and again. His sidekick – definitely not replacement! – Matt Starr fills in in the live setting and has covered for Pat on recent tours. To have them both drumming in the video shows that they’re both very much a part of the Mr. Big family.
