Dunno about you lot, but Thursday’s a tough day. So close to the weekend, but just… not… quite… there… Hopefully this half-dozen will help you deal with the stress…

Machine Head are set to release ninth studio album Catharsis on 26th January 2018. The release is available in an array of formats, including a CD/DVD digipak edition which includes concert footage of the band’s 2015 show at San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom. The band have revealed a video clip of “Now We Die”, taken from that 21-track DVD footage.
The album is available to pre-order on a wealth of formats (including a delicious box set) at Nuclear Blast now. Check out one of the new songs, “Beyond The Pale“.
Hogan’s Goat – “Annie Off The Rails”
Nashville based rock band Hogan’s Goat has released the official music video for their single “Annie Off The Rails”. The song is off of Hogan’s Goat’s self titled, debut album.
Hogan’s Goat tracks mud on your clean carpet. Located in Nashville, TN the band slithers in the swamps of rock n’ roll/metal. A shotgun blast away from the big leagues, HG released their debut album in July of 2017.
The Rubens – “Million Man”
Award-winning Australian indie-rock quintet The Rubens are back with the new groove-laden single “Million Man” and have released the accompanying video. Keyboardist Elliott Margin says:
We just wanted to do something that reflected the energy and fun of the song… The idea is we’re in New York having the greatest time recording this record and hanging with these dudes (in the studio), so we felt like why don’t we make a video that reflects that and how much fun we’re having.
“Million Man” marks the first single off the band’s highly anticipated third album, due for release in 2018 and follows the platinum-certified, global hit single “Hoops”.
Lycanthrope – “Like A Ghost”
Lycanthrope have announced the release of their debut full-length album, Chapters, on Friday February 16 2018. To celebrate, they are unleashing a brand new track and video into the world, entitled “Like A Ghost”. Pre-Orders for the album go live on December 4th on iTunes (with s getting “Like a Ghost” instantly) and the single live to stream on Spotify same day.
Too Close To Touch – “Before I Cave In”
Lexington, Kentucky band Too Close To Touch have released a new song and video in the form of “Before I Cave In”. The band have this to say:
We’re happy to share our new single “Before I Cave In” – a dark and emotive song that was cathartic for us to write. We wanted to push ourselves to try something new for this music video and explore making a light-hearted visual that was the opposite of the song itself. Sometimes, humour and the ability to laugh at yourself is the best form of medication.
Starblind – “Pride And Glory”
Starblind has released a video for the song “Pride And Glory”. The song is on the new album Never Seen Again, which was released on November 24th, 2017 via Pure Steel Records.
With their third album, Never Seen Again, Starblind convince totally. The musical direction is close to Iron Maiden, but of course with their own unique style and influences.
