Shadows of Violence drop new video for “Who Am I”

I was mostly into thrash metal in my teens and being quite a bit older than that now, I those times fondly. Attending the Clash of the Titans tour in 1990 with Slayer, Megadeth, Testament and Suicidal Tendencies was the pinnacle of my time with thrash metal.

As metal music does, it evolves and death metal soon won my heart leaving thrash metal behind. Sometimes though there are thrash metal bands that make me what it first felt like to mosh or push or get pushed in the pit. Bands like Vorgok from Brazil and Evile from the UK made me sit up and take notice again of how good things were back in the day for thrash metal. Then I reviewed an EP called Revolt that will be released on June 1st from a five-piece band from Leeds called Shadows of Violence.

To whet our appetites before then, Shadows of Violence have released a video for my favourite track off the EP, “Who Am I”. This got me moving, moshing and starting a pit in my living room to the extent that I will now be claiming my contents insurance from the bank such is the ferocity and strength of this track. Watch the video, get in touch with the band and buy the EP on June 1st. For fans of Machine Head, Forbidden, Exodus and Anthrax.

Revolt will be out June 1st
