Video Premier: Dancing With Dakota – “Voices” (featuring Championship wrestler Davey Blaze)

Dancing With Dakota are an alternative metal band from Glasgow, Scotland. Producing memorable songs with melodic structures, ocean deep breakdowns and massive choruses, all orchestrated into powerful and energetic live performances.

They are proud to announce their new single, “Voices”, which is out today. The band are pulling no punches with the subject matter for the track, having witnessed close friends struggle with mental health issues, ing them through their troubles to see the other side, as well as sadly some not having such a positive outcome. Paul Callanin (vocals) explains:

When I picked up the pen to write the lyrics for “Voices” I was actually in a very positive frame of mind. Unfortunately some of my closest friends’ lives hadn’t been going great and I had witnessed a number of them struggling to handle the tough hand that life had dealt them. I felt like I had to put myself in their shoes to write a song about one of the darkest places the mind can take you to. A place where you’re screaming but no one can hear you , a place where your drowning with no view of the surface. Hell.

Writing a truly dark song can come with backlash and negative because some people only see the horror, they don’t see the beauty behind the message, which is to raise awareness of mental health issues and to tell anyone that is struggling for whatever reason that we all go through hell at times. There is always someone somewhere who will help put out the fire!

There is always hope in this world, you just have to keep fighting to keep those voices at bay.
