Empyre – new video and album release party announced

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album “Self Aware” (review here), the Northampton rock four-piece EMPYRE will be coming to London for a special one night only celebration on 28th November! To coincide with the announcement, the band is also thrilled to launch the fourth single “Too Close”, taken from “Self Aware”. The track is another example of Empyre’s unique style, that puts them on the British rock newcomers map. “Too Close” displays thoughtful and cohesive gritty songwriting, with a colossal chorus, intricate guitar work and engaging, thought provoking lyrics.

“Too Close” is also accompanied by a brand new video release and can be watched below.

Empyre’s album party is an incredible opportunity for the band to celebrate their successful year with people that made it possible and it is an unmissable chance for the fans to catch the band’s powerful live performance. The album party at the iconic venue The Water Rats will be free entry and will kick off at 18:30. First on stage will be Jack J Hutchinson, opening the evening with an intimate acoustic performance; followed by Empyre, who will take to the stage and perform material from their debut album.

Guitarist Did comments: “We want to celebrate, thank the fans and reflect on this rollercoaster ride of a year. So we’ve decided to hire a venue in the heart of London and make it free for everyone to attend. We’re going to play our hearts out for you all and we want you to share in Self Aware‘s success before we embark on the next part of the ride in 2020. I’m certainly excited, and looking forward to hanging out and playing for you all”.

Frontman Henrik, continues: “This year has been our most significant year to date, with the release and overwhelming reception to our debut album. It feels only right to celebrate the year and toast to the future with a party in the capital city”.

Formed in 2016, Empyre saw a successful 2018, playing the international HRH Festival – Road To Ibiza and capturing the attention of BBC Introducing, which described the band’s sound as “triumphant, chest beating rock”. Empyre also performed a session for the renowned ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris’ – Under The Apple Tree Sessions”, a privilege usually reserved exclusively for country acts.

Now, the atmospheric rock four-piece has presented a truly accomplished first record. Filled with no fillers, Self Aware is a collection of 11 outstanding tracks, in which each song individually showcases a band with skillful songwriting and a bold sound. Each song on the album has its own personality, and an underlining and unifying soundscape ties all the tracks together, fusing the roots of the style’s tradition with a unique musical edge, creating a distinctive, dark and introspective rock. From the gritty opener “My Bad” to the heavier and more intense “New Republic”; from the dramatic “Too Close” to the more upbeat “Drive”; from the hard-hitting “Too Little Too Late” to the atmospheric and epic “Homegrown”; each track is lyrically engaging and displays an unapologetic unique sound.

Off the back on an extremely successful rotating headline UK tour, with English rockers Ryders Creed and The Rocket Dolls, Empyre will keep on bringing Self Aware to stages across Britain.
