British progressive punk metallers Quella put down a marker in the sand with their stunning new EP, Donor Fatigue, which arrives on Friday 22nd November. The UK noisemakers have also just unleashed a new track and video, “Crown Of Flies”.
Hailing from London and Brighton, Quella are comprised of four individuals with very different and diverse influences and tastes. It’s from the marriage of these differing styles that Quella produce music that is both intriguing, yet accessible – a perfect blend of melody over a bed of ever shifting and potent rhythms which has become their signature sound.
Ever since their inception, the four piece have shared stages with the likes of Sumer, Core of iO, In Search of Sun, Black Orchid Empire, Gold Key and Dirty Sound Magnet. Besides playing alongside a raft of emerging artists, Quella have also played a series of highly successfully headline shows, all of which have helped the metal punks circulate their own army of followers.
This year, the band headed to Ranch Studios to work on their incoming EP, Donor Fatigue. The record oozes melody fused riffage, hooky refrains and bone-crunching rhythms. Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Lewis Johns (Conjurer, Rolo Tomassi, Gnarwolves, Employed to Serve), the release captures the raw and live sound of Quella, whilst showcasing their engagingly punchy and eclectic styles.
