One of a couple of tracks we’ve been given permission to sneak out to you lucky folk an hour ahead of time, “Beta to Gamma” is a heavy, bass-driven slab of metal with a video that looks like it was filmed in your favourite rock club. It comes from After Smoke Clears, who we featured as a Band of the Day some time ago and chatted to again more recently in May.
2020 has seen London based 4-piece After Smoke Clears garner formidable attention throughout the metal world, and like their band name, they have cleared their vision and are ready for you to listen to their third creation.
“Beta To Gamma” follows on from “The Vine” and “Deterioration” as the third of After Smoke Clears’ onslaught of six single releases throughout the year, blending metal, tech and groove to deliver a powerful movement in their music and make heads bang.
“Beta To Gamma”’s message is simple: the mind is a superb instrument if used rightly, and meditation holds the key. Many of us are hopelessly enslaved by our minds. For some of us, it’s our own worst enemy. But there is a way to break free from the prison. If we stay intensely present, and let the resistance go, we can watch our minds with curiosity instead of being its victim.
