We like to feature bands who are putting a lot of the work in themselves, so here’s a quick mention for Orlando’s Variant. Devin Ingelido, who plays bass in the band, got in touch to tell us they were releasing a new video today for “Inner Gemini”, a track from their new EP Delirium Machine which is also out today.
The fourth release by Variant, “Inner Gemini”, (Mar 5th, 2021) tackles another censored topic of society: online lust. The accepted culture of struggling women forced to expose themselves for money – while luring men into false love – forms a vicious dynamic, rooted in a deep and primal urge we all share. Delicately manipulating this story to fit a heavier sonic, Variant once more highlights a societal discourse which few dare to breach.
