Exclusive Video Premiere: The Injester – “Big Top Voyeurs”

They’ve already been spinning this one over on Moshville Radio, and here at the mothership we’re proud to be giving the first airing to The Injester’s “Big Top Voyeurs” lyric video. The music is from the band’s forthcoming album A Spectacle to Behold (out October 31st this year), and the visuals come courtesy of genre favourite Very Metal Art.

Clowns, harlequins, jesters, and fools aplenty here – but you’ll find no buffoonery in this pantomime. Indeed, a circus of horrors that will delight the ears and disturb the eyes. Coulrophobic’s beware!

“Big Top Voyeurs”, sinister and chuggy, is a creepy, seductive take on everyone’s worship, attraction and obsession with a spectacle, taboos, sensationalism, fantasies, social media and everything that draws them in to captivate their hidden sides, release their inner freak and like moths to flames may lose inhibitions and lose control.

With tones encoming the emerging sounds of the new world of metal in the 90s along with the established and fine tuned hooks and melodies in the nu-millennium. Meanwhile taking influence from a myriad artists including Faith No More, Earthtone9, Alice Cooper, and Ghost. This leaves the bands sound in the comfortably awkward crevice between heavy and melodic, industrial and nu, riff and core, emotional and raw. Juvenile yet seasoned, with a youthful energy and a wise craft and execution – seamlessly stitching and embracing the contrasts and dynamics of light and dark.

Disturbing and haunting lyrics (take a read) with bright devious vocals and soaring melodic guitar solos. The rhythm section deliver hooky enchanting riffs with a guttural hypnotising bassline. The keys and samples complete that dose of circus eeriness and suspense, and all rounded off with the most precise and articulate drumming, live recorded to harmoniously compliment every angel attacked.

Throughout the album, A Spectacle to Behold out this Halloween, you might hear strands of industrial Rob Zombie (minus the movie samples), grotesque threads of Mushroomhead, rapcore accents of (hed) PE, and metalcore undertones of Sevendust.

With the troupes reveal at Hammerfest 2020, the horde took to Bloodstock in 2021, and this summer will see the gang take to the stage at 2022, Sunday morning on the Dogtooth stage!
