Another bundle from our very impressively bulging mailbox…

In Flames

Today, two international metal heavyweights celebrate an extension of their alliance: Swedish metal legends In Flames have re-signed with Nuclear Blast Records – extending their partnership on a worldwide level. As one of the most influential metal bands of all time, the news foreshadows some exciting plans for the Gothenburg legends, soon to be rolled out.

Following this groundbreaking news, In Flames have today released a crushing new single titled “State Of Slow Decay”. The song, which was premiered live at Sweden Rock festival, comes accompanied by a video that features the band performing their new track on an unconventional stage.

Chaos Rising

International all-female metal collective Chaos Rising is set to release their twenty-second (!) single and video on Monday.

“No Weakness” is a classic heavy metal track, written by Stéphanie Nolf and featuring new vocalist Astrid Anayalation (USA). The song also features drummer Siddhi Shah (India/Dubai) and two other new Chaos Rising musicians, Keira Kenworthy (UK) on bass, plus an amazing guitar solo from Australia’s Andrea Krakovska.

Founded by French multi-instrumentalist Stéphanie Nolf (Unsafe, Syrinx), Chaos Rising is a unique project that brings together female metal musicians from across the globe. “No Weakness” will feature on Chaos Rising’s forthcoming double album, and you can help the girls by pre-ordering the album on their crowdfunding site.

This Drama

“Back to La Brea” is the latest effort from Spanish rock outfit This Drama. The band have dropped the distortion pedals and locked themselves up in a desert cabin to produce their most visceral work to date.

To celebrate the release of the single, This Drama have also released a music video for the track. “Back to La Brea” is available on digital platforms now, via Golden Robot Records.

Visualis

Sydney melodic metal act Visualis are proud to release the video for their new single “Doom Arise” from their debut 2021 EP Sunrise in Black.

Visualis is a four piece band with John Browne on guitar & vocals, Roman Ibarra on guitar, keys & vocals, Zoran Šukara on bass & vocals and Finley Ford on drums.

“Doom Arise” has a lyrical theme focusing on human self destruction, propensity to cause harm to others and the eventual impending doom if we continue behaving along this route. The song is predominantly in five count and very enjoyable to play as a band including parts where we do a call and response with each other and the solo section starting with Roman on keys followed by Johnny’s guitar.

The Cruel Intentions

The Cruel Intentions is exactly what you want and expect them to be; easy going, fast paced modern sleaze rock.

The band plays around the esthetics of bands such as Guns ‘N Roses and Mötley Crue, and carries on the legacy of good old Rock ‘N Roll into the contemporary youth of today.

American Anymen

Antifolk turned industrial band American Anymen just dropped their new full-length album Cities Changing Names and revealed a new music video for the song “My Vacation”, once again directed by Brett Sullivan.
