Originating from the southern coast of Sweden, the pioneering alternative metalcore group Imminence has boldly established their presence within the heavy music scene in recent years. Against all odds, this quintet has meticulously crafted a musical landscape that transcends traditional genre boundaries. Their bold fusion of classical string arrangements seamlessly intertwined with the raw intensity of Scandinavian metal delivers a captivating auditory journey. Through both their sound and visual representation, Imminence emerges as a beacon of innovation and excitement, solidifying their position not only as a band but as trailblazers exploring new frontiers in the ever-evolving musical terrain.
Led by vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg, alongside guitarists Harald Barrett and Alex Arnoldsson, drummer Peter Hanström, and bassist Christian Höijer, Imminence is poised to unleash their musical prowess with their forthcoming album, The Black.
Prepare yourselves and brace for the immersive plunge into the depths of The Black. Imminence presents an audacious promise of an unparalleled musical odyssey that defies convention, inviting you to embark on the journey of a new genre classic.
This is the closest we’ve ever been to a self-titled release, as this record speaks volumes about what Imminence is as a band. Drawing influences across our discography mixed with our Scandinavian roots, you can hear elements from our entire history, yet fueled by an insatiable hunger. The album is probably the most conceptual we’ve ever created, and I’ve never been more proud of a body of work before. Continuing on the path as previous releases, the lyrical concepts revolve around mental health and depression. But there’s no holding back this time. It’s angrier, more desperate, and unhinged, soaking in fear and darkness. We’ve also allowed ourselves to let the album soar out into unexpected spaces, creating a musical journey with stark contrasts between light and darkness. It’s an ‘eat-your-heart-out’, unapologetic testament to what Imminence has become. This is The Black.
