Worgohm release single and music video for “Cold Sweat”

Worgohm, a modern metal band founded in 2024 and led by the talented Brazilian musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Michel Oliveira, has released its impactful debut single and music video, “Cold Sweat”. With a visceral and profound approach, the song explores the dark labyrinths of our fears and inner monsters. It delves into panic syndrome and the increasing isolation fostered by social media, revealing the devastating effects of these invisible forces on our psyche. “Cold Sweat” serves as an invitation to confront our vulnerabilities and contemplate the intricate relationship between technology and mental health.

The concept for Worgohm emerged in early 2024, driven by Michel Oliveira’s desire to create a project that integrates his influences from djent, tech metal and prog metal into a cohesive platform. With a distinguished career and recognized as one of the pioneers of djent in Brazil, Michel consistently showcases excellence in composition and musicality, traits that extend into Worgohm.

The name “Worgohm” lacks a specific meaning; it’s more akin to a sound or possibly an onomatopoeia. Drawing inspiration from Lovecraft’s cosmic horror, Michel employs this project to explore through his lyrics the notion that in the face of the universe’s vastness and mysteries, we are mere grains of sand in the cosmos, insignificant yet part of something immense.

Michel oversees the entire conception and production of Worgohm’s work. However, during live performances, the band features a guest bassist and drummer. With lyrics in English addressing themes such as the pitfalls of technological dependency, cosmic horror, and existentialism, Worgohm aims to entertain, surprise, and provoke meaningful reflection among its audience.
