So, moments away from the much anticipated launch of their tenth studio album, the ‘tallica boys tease us with another track release. Atlas, Rise! springs into life with all the gusto we’d expect from these rock veterans.
For a world famous (dare I say the most famous) metal band who have been in continuous action since the early 80s, they are not showing any signs of slowing down. This track is cracking. It’s got all the usual combo of high-energy drumming, crunchy riffs and rhythm sections, spiralling solos and “weight of the world” lyrics but still sounds fresh and new.
It seems to me that James and the boys are about to take the world by storm again, appealing to a new generation, with an album set to rival the great masterpiece that was the eponymous “black” album… And about time!
Hardwired…For Self-Destruct is out on 18th November and I, for one, can’t wait!
