I’m rather hoping that the phrase “better late than never” works with the guys from Dementia Senex. They sent me a copy of their EP ages ago – it came out on April 9th – and I’d just rediscovered the email. So huge apologies to them, and I hope it’s doing well! And that a few words now will help get another few flying off the digital shelves!
Note that there’s no reason not to check it out – it’s a free (or “name your price”) via their bandcamp page.
The band are from Cesena, Italy. They play a sick mix of death metal, post hardcore and sludge/doom stuff, in the veins of Ulcerate, Gorguts and Cult of Luna. The three tracks present on the EP show a lot of promise. They’re heavy, yet melodic in places, and it’s obvious that a lot of work has gone into them.
Check out one of the tracks below for a sample and if you like it then grab the lot. If you can afford it, throw them a few Euros for their trouble. Recording music isn’t a cheap hobby!
