Grim Vision from Hamburg have a little 3-track release out on August 28th called War Agony. It’s available as limited 7″ vinyl or digital , and it’s three tracks of intensely heavy metal / hardcore fusion.
The lyrics are poem-based and focus on the destruction wrought by man on himself during the 19th and 20th centuries. Accompanying these tales of war and agony (see what they did there) are some bone-shatteringly heavy music.
Opener “Fallen Soldier” takes no prisoners. From the opening , it gears you up for just over two minutes of constant hardcore barrage before a closing set of squeals bleeds through into second track “War Machine”. This an overall more “metal” track, but no less bruising because of it. Again, it’s moderately short at under two minutes but it crushes for the entire length.
Finally, “Ten Minutes” weighs in at… just under six minutes. It sets itself apart from the other two songs by having a much different structure including an atmospheric intro before launching into the head-banging riffage around the two-minute mark. This is overall a much slower, heavier track than the others but I’m a fan of variety and it’s good to hear so much across such a small number of songs.
Digital pre-orders are being taken over at the band’s bandcamp page. Sales of the vinyl will be handled, I suspect, by Bastardized Recordings.
