Pearly Gates is a great progressive rock band from Helsinki, Finland. The band formed in 2005 and since then they are making music and performing live actively. They released their sixth EP titled Unchained in August. It features four songs of tasty music full of interesting ages and melodies.
The band creates a mix of various different elements in their songs. It could be said that they create music based on progressive rock with touches of noise, psychedelia and alternative rock.
Each of the four songs on Unchained brings something different. The EP opens with “Glass Eyes,” a song the band already released a video for, and it’s definitely the biggest highlight of the EP. Well thought piece both and lyrically and musically, “Glass Eyes” is a nice dessert for every fan of melodic / progressive rock. The concept of the video fits very well with the atmosphere and story.
