Imagine Lawnmower Deth got really drunk at a party. So drunk that it slept with the horrifically ugly offspring of Party Cannon and old-school Carcass. The elder sibling – Lawnmower Deth may be wasted, but he’s not going to do something daft with an underage metal hybrid. That would be wrong.
Anyway, wait for the horrifically disfigured child to be born, inject with a dash of Psychostick and Gunship then drop it on its head. This maybe, just about gives you an idea of how utterly messed up Serrabulho are.
This is not an album for the faint-hearted, or those who didn’t giggle pathetically at their first issue of Viz. If bum and fart joked are beneath you, then look elsewhere. Similarly if very heavy grindcore-esque tracks (with the occasional bit of dub and dance) isn’t your thing then head back to the CD racks. Or, you know, give it a chance anyway. Just drink heavily first.
With titles like “Pornocchio”, “Happy Fornication” and “Testicular Torsion” Serrabulho don’t exactly hide their subject matter. Lyrically they’re… about what you’d expect. Childish, silly and rather disgusting and it’s a shame in a way that the musical style means that many are delivered in that croaky/pig-grunt fashion you often encounter at the extreme end of the spectrum. Fortunately, a lyrics sheet is included so you can fathom exactly how certifiable the of the band are.
Check out a sample below (one of the Portuguese tracks on the album – the band are from Vile real) and if you’re banging your head (or drooling appreciatively) afterwards then you can get the album via Rotten Roll Rex – it’s been out for a short while now.
