Way back in 2013 we featured a new band called 3 Parts Dead. Well, they got back in touch recently to let us know that they had a new three-track EP out, called Master. It was released at the start of August and you can pick it up via Amazon (we get pennies if you buy it through that link!), iTunes and Bandcamp.
One thing the band haven’t changed in the last three years is their overall sound. Gritty, heavy and rocking, all three tracks should appeal to fans of G’n’R, Skid Row and the like. “My Mistake” has a near Alice In Chains opening, being quite grungy but settles into classic rock mode quickly enough.
“Summer of Sam” starts with a much more up-tempo beat which appealed more to me. This is the song to get the crowd jumping at a gig, and the vocals have a Faster Pussycat edge. “The Mirror” falls nicely in between the other two, having a more sleazy sound to it.
Don’t take my word for it, though – listen below!
