Returning with a new line up but maintaining their heavy, uncontrollable vortex Nervosa aren’t quite ready to have their crowns taken away from them with the new album Perpetual Chaos.
Very rarely do I hear a piece of news that makes me want to pull my hair out, then, soon after receiving another piece of news and immediately going to look for the superglue – case in point, hearing that Nervosa were calling it a day, then finding out that they would not only exploring new terrain with a revitalized line-up but that line up would now be including Diva Satanica on vocals, Eleni Nota on drums and Mia Wallace on bass! – my fan level literally upgraded from that moment.
Any reservations are quickly quelled as the opening track “Venomous” sets the tone perfectly – loud, fast, and solos galore, the menacing “Guided By Evil” hammers home this message even more – Nervosa are out for blood.
“People Of The Abyss” is track of the album easily – if you want a song that makes you feel your skin is melting off of your skull this is the one for you. Title track “Perpetual Chaos” offers albeit brief respite compared to the previous track along with a great chorus.

This album is pure fury – “Until The Very End” crashes through the speakers into the shrill of “Genocidal Command”, itself spiraling into the fabulous “Kings Of Domination”.
“Time To Fight” is one of those tracks I know I am going to revisit a lot, not only does it carry a strong message but it’s a total earworm. The trio of “Godless Prisoner”, “Blood Eagle” and “Rebel Soul” complement each other very well with the latter having a real classic heavy metal vocal feel.
The final two tracks ” Pursued By Judgement” and “Under Ruins” reaffirm what this band are – simply unrelenting.

Nervosa are still willing to tackle issues that impact the very core of society such as political grievances and amplifying the voices of minorities to protesting against factory farming, capitalism, and succumbing to the ill-informed musings of social elites but it’s all done with unrelenting brutality.
Thrash on a feral level.
Perpetual Chaos is out now
