So the night does not kick off well for the band as, when they arrive, they find both bands have dropped out, one very last minute. Later door times for them as they will be the only band playing now which makes photos and review a touch easier for yours truly.
They kick off with “Rise (or Fall)” a great rock track to start proceedings tonight. Next a rocking version of Alter Bridges “Come to Life”, a track that they really rock and it is such a similar style to the band, quickly followed by “Casanova”, an unreleased track. Next up “Tell Me” kicks off with Becky’s soaring vocals – a kick ass rock ballad style track with some nice guitar work. Check out the video for the track below.
“The House of Cards” from 2014’s EP kicks in with some serious guitar and Becky’s amazing vocals – a killer track with serious riffage, probably my favourite off the EP. We have the new single/video next in the form of “Unbreakable” with Dan pounding away in the back we head into this fantastic new track. I have a hard time pinning down their sound, sort of a rockier version of Within Temptation/Evanescence with a hint of Trivium/Black Stone Cherry and Alter Bridge thrown in.
The band head back to the EP now with “Close My Eyes”, a fantastic hard-edged track with some great guitar work on it, before we get a great cover of Black Stone Cherry’s “Rain Wizard” which shows off Becky’s vocal range very well. They “Bring on the Pain” now from the EP with a very BSC-meets-Zack Wylde intro, a real rock riff chugger of a track with strong growling vocals from Becky.
The band tells us “All You Need To Know” before we hear the “Creatures of the Night”, another two unreleased tracks to close out a fantastic set from a great up and coming band. A very talented band who are destined for bigger and better things. No bands but not a dull night by a long way. I would urge you to go go and see One Last Run live when you can and definitely check out the EP – you will not be disappointed.
