The Moshville Times - Stereo Juggernaut / The Hyena Kill / Black Sixteen

It’s a Friday night at The Devonshire Arms (The Dev) in Camden and the bar is full of rock/metal fans celebrating the end of another long week with some drinks and live music.

First to take to the tiny stage were local four-piece Black Sixteen – “a dynamic and emotionally charged band with a heart of darkness cloaked in candy” in their own words. They played a great six-song set of dark grunge to an already packed room, including a cover of “Wish” by Nine Inch Nails.

Next to hit the stage were Manchester duo The Hyena Kill who are firm favourite at The Moshville Times. When myself and colleague Sam first saw them at Atomised (released in May 2016), as well as latest single “Panic Womb” (released September 2017).

Last to take to the stage are tonight’s headliners Stereo Juggernaut. I first saw these guys two years ago and I enjoying their electro-punk sound. The four-piece from London wowed the crowd with their unique blend of pounding bass, screaming guitars and industrial synth, as they playing tracks from their 2016 album Shutdown!, plus crowd-favourites from their back-catalogue. I would definitely recommend checking them out if they play a town near you.
