The Moshville Times - Gig Review: Electric Callboy / Blind Channel / One Morning Left – Electric Ballroom, London (21st April 2022)

This was my first time coving a gig at the Electric Ballroom and as a bonus it was probably my most anticipated gig of the year.

First on stage was Finnish metalcore band One Morning Left who brought an interesting and unique mixture of both electro and metalcore, from hard and heavy riffs to captivating melodies that really created an energetic atmosphere.

Up next was Blind Channel a post-hardcore band from Finland, who also represented Finland and finished 6^th in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with their song “Dark Side”. They brought an interesting mix of original music as well as a few covers that really captivated the audience, particularly their cover of “Lose Yourself” which really got the crowd going.

Last but not least, probably my favourite band of the last two years, Electric Callboy (who recently underwent a partial name change). They produced probably one of the most exciting shows that I have ever seen. They arrived on stage in 1980s style work out video gear for their song “Pump It” and even included a comedy filled acoustic section. These are definitely not a band to ever miss, who don’t just play songs and go home. This is a live show in the widest sense of the word. Cracking tunes, silliness, laughs, audience interaction…

I’d go as far as to say that this is the kind band who could create new fans from those who’ve never even heard of them simply by having them attend a gig. I am fairly sure that everyone at the Electric Ballroom tonight had at least as much fun as I did!
