WREX are a two piece from Brighton playing pop-rock, and they’ve recently released their second single – “Halfway”.
As always with small bands, it’s impressive that they sound so much “bigger”. I can only assume magic tricks in a recording studio have something to do with this! “Halfway” is a bouncy little number with lilting vocals and a catchy chorus, but also throws in a few little rhythmical surprises to keep you on your toes. The sound verges into pop-punk kind of territory with its hooks, but is a little more laid back than that.
